About the Games
The Granite State Games is New Hampshire’s Olympic-style multi-sport competition — bringing together the state’s best amateur youth athletes to compete for regional pride.
Our Story
Why We Do This
The Granite State Games was born from a simple belief — that New Hampshire’s student athletes deserve a stage to showcase their talent beyond the regular high school season. Inspired by similar programs in states like Illinois and Kentucky, a group of dedicated sports enthusiasts set out to bring an Olympic-style competition to the Granite State.
Based on the Olympic model, the Games feature an opening ceremony, round-robin tournaments, and championship games. Athletes are selected to represent one of four regions, breaking down high school rivalry barriers and creating life-long friendships. They compete not just for themselves, but for regional pride — playing alongside former opponents and discovering what it means to be part of something bigger.
What started as a vision has grown into one of New Hampshire’s premier youth athletic events. Every year, top athletes across multiple sports come together at NHTI in Concord for a weekend of competition, community, and championship moments.
“We place a premium on character, self-esteem and confidence by stressing the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.”

Teamwork & Sportsmanship
The Games break down high school rivalry barriers. Athletes who were always competitors get to play as teammates and represent their region together — building friendships that last a lifetime.
